The fans of the Chennai Super Kings started their Friday with positive news, the comeback of their team. The Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings had the chance of playing the IPL again during the ban period, for the respective teams were coming to an end, imposed due to the betting scandal. The sport requires zero tolerance to corruption to maintain the sanctity of the sport. Many fans had tweeted the news of the comeback of C.S.K. Most of them rooted for the ex-Indian captain, M.S.Dhoni. The fans expressed their desire to see him as captain, as Dhoni had been off-captaincy even for the I.P.L.
The management of C.S.K had expressed the desire to see Dhoni back in yellow, leading the side. He has led the side to many championships. The Indian side had declined after C.S.K won the IPL at the 2011 season. The drought of wins had begun in the international Test results of India. The teams overall away performance was dissapointing, whereas the Chennai Super Kings had won the Champions League in this period Mahendra Sing Dhoni lost the captaincy of his IPL franchise Rising Pune SuperGiants. The current’s national side performance has been outstanding despite the loss of the Champions Trophy final. Some fans had felt that the absence of the two allegedly corrupt sides was the reason for the outstanding performance. Hence, they fear if they make a comeback, the national side’s performance might decline as in the past. Is the desire to see Dhoni captain a side more important than the natonal side’s performance? These are the questions from certain ambassadors of the game.
