On Saturday, Mumbai Indians was playing against Delhi Daredevils and Delhi’s batsman Glen Maxwell hit a shot from covers. Hardik Pandya who was doing fielding at Mid-off came running and took the catch. After taking the catch, Pandya did something that Maxwell didn’t like.
In the 14th over of KXIP’s innings, batsman Glenn Maxwell hit Krunal Pandya’s ball in the air. Hardik ran in from the boundary to cover a lot of distance while keeping his eye on the ball and stretched to his left by taking a full dive and caught the ball in both hands.

The catch is definitely going to remind cricket fans of former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes. The South African great is fondly remembered for his brilliant fielding efforts and unbelievable catches. Jonty Rhodes, who has been part of MI for nine seasons since 2009, quit as Mumbai Indians’ fielding coach in December.
Krunal Pandya who was doing bowling came in rush and hugged his brother for this amazing catch. After this Mohammad Kaif is among the many to have praised Pandya’s brilliant effort.
That catch by Hardik of Maxwell is as good as you will see in the outfield. Running towards his left , keeping the eyes on the ball and maintaining his balance. Super catch. Could be a game changer #MIvDD
