It looks like Eminem’s long-awaited ninth solo album will drop in the fourth quarter of 2017. Marshall Mathers is back in the recording studio and the musical rumor mill is churning with excitement and anticipation for the return of Eminem.
Shady teased the project last year, releasing the news song, “Campaign Speech” and tweeting, “Don’t worry I’m working on an album! Here’s something meanwhile.”No other solo releases have materialized since, but lately, news has started to leak about the project. A month ago, news broke that Dr. Dre is working on the LP. “Dre still records,” The Defiant Ones director, Allan Hughes said in an interview. “People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know? But I hear what you’re saying. It’s the truth.”
Eminem is also set to produce the upcoming comedy feature film, Bodied, which follows the story of a university student who writes a controversial thesis on the rap battle scene.
