Venkatesh Prabhu Kashthuri Raja or better known by his stage name Dhanush turns 34 today. Some of the nicknames given by his fans include Bruce Lee of Kollywood. He’s multi-talented in real life as well, not only acting but he has also shown his potential in other fields such as- direction, production, writing, screen writing and playback singing as well.
The super talented Dhanush celebrates his birthday today(July 28) in Malaysia, where the actor is busy promoting Velai Illa Pattadhari 2 with director Soundarya Rajinikanth and Kajol, who plays an important role in the film.
The twitter is flooded with his fan’s wishes. The fans in Malaysia showed their love by singing Happy Birthday for him, to which he tweeted “Was so overwhelmed by the love showered by fans in Malaysia .. was so touched when they sang happy birthday for me. Whatta birthday eve”.
STARTING OF HIS JOURNEY:
He started his acting career through Thulluvatho Ilamai, a film directed by his father Kasthuri Raja. This was a teen coming of age film. The film depicts the story of six high-school classmates, three boys and three girls, coming from different strata of society, who have each their own problems in their respective families and escape from their homes, deciding to live together on their own the help of an older friend of theirs.
Over the last 15 years of his acting career, he has starred in over 25 films. He has won the Best Actor Award at 58th National Film Awards for his performance in Aaduklam. He showed us his singing talent by singing the song “Why This Kolaveri Di” that became the first Indian video song to cross 100 million views on youtube. His list of achievements does not end here, he has also won 3 National Film Awards and 7 Filmfare Awards.
Dhanush is born to a Tamil film director and producer Kasthuri Raja. He was forced into acting by his brother Selvaraghavan. He married Aishwarya, Rajinikanth’s daughter on November 18, 2004. They have two sons named Yatra and Linga who were born in 2006 and 2010.
Life of Dhanush is full of controversies. There were reports that Shruti Haasan and Dhanush got carried away with their romantic scene on the set of a film in 2011, which later turned out to be an affair. Not only this, in November 2016, Kathiresan and Meenaal, an old couple from Thiruppuvanam, Tamil Nadu claimed that they were the real parents of Dhanush. They claimed his original name was Kalaiyarasan and he left his house in 2002 after his poor exam results. He ran away to Chennai to become an actor and never visited them again. The couple even filed out a complaint in order to get their son back. But there was no truth in the couple’s claim.
