Going in detail, In the last two years that is from 2015 April to October 2017 the Government of India – Indian Railways have saved Rs.5,630+ Crores. And, Now the Indian railways set their goal to save Rs.40,000+ crores in coming next ten years. The Indian Railways saved the current by using the method Open Access policy under the act 2003.
Till now the open access sources for saving current for the Indian Railways areas are as below :
- Madhya Pradesh
- Karnataka and Damodar Valley Corporation area.
In coming few years the open access point is going to be used in the following areas also :
- Uttar Pradesh
- West Bengal
- Tamil Nadu
All the saved amount by the Indian Railways is going to be used for the Indian Railways only.
A survey says that the railways consume around 2.8 billion litres of diesel a year it costs up to Rs.18,000+ crores.
