The first season of Bigg Boss Tamil is being aired since June 24th on Vijay TV. The show has been getting an immense response from the viewers and also one more notable thing is that legendary Kamal Hassan is the host. The show is based on Bigg Boss that airs on Colors TV and has been in news ever since it went on air.
A lawyer named SS Balaji has lodged a police complaint against Hassan and the producers of the show for allegedly pushing Oviya, one of the contestants, to attempt suicide. Balaji has sought an investigation from police against the producers of the show and Kamal Hassan for causing mental distress to Oviya to boost the TRPs, viewership, and profit from the show. In his complaint, the lawyer has held that the rules of the show and tasks that Oviya was subjected to during her stay in the house drove her towards depression. The lawyer also shared the copy of the complaint on his Twitter account.

Oviya, the star contestant on the show, quit Bigg Boss Tamil after staying in the house for 41 days. Her devil-may-care attitude, boldness, and honesty helped her win a lot of admiration from the audience. However, it also became the source of all her problems in the house. She remained a constant target and envy of other housemates.
Oviya is a model and Tamil actress who rose to fame mainly after her comedy film ‘Kalavani’ that released in 2010. In the Bigg Boss Tamil house, Oviya has been one of the most favorite contestants of the audience. It was her honesty and boldness that helped her win a lot of fan following which eventually became a source of trouble for her in the house. Her admiration from the audience perhaps led her to become the target of other members in the Bigg Boss house.
The television reality show has been embroiled in several legal problems due to some of the activities of the participants inside the house. Puthiya Tamizhagam founder-president Dr. K Krishnaswamy has filed a law suit against the Bigg Boss Tamil demanding Rs 100 crore in damages after Gayathri Raghuram used the slang ‘cheri’ (slum) against another housemate.
