A Facebook post alleging apathy by Police has gone viral on the internet. The video shows police officers stopping an ambulance to allow CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s convoy pass through the busy street. Cops are seen arguing with the public after which they still do not allow the ambulance to pass by.

The video below shows police officers stopping an ambulance to allow CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s convoy pass through the busy street.

According to sources, Palaniswami was coming from the airport.

“Let the ambulance go” said a motorist but the traffic police doesn’t heed. “Why should we wait for the CM to give interviews at airport,” the angry motorist said.

This is in stark contrast to what happened earlier in June. A traffic police officer deployed at Bengaluru’s Trinity Circle on Saturday won hearts of the city and the netizens alike for deftly making way for an ambulance even as a convoy of the President of India was to pass through a busy junction.

Before that in May, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s convoy was stopped to give right of way to an ambulance after on May 4 the police stopped traffic to allow Siddaramaiah’s convoy pass near Town Hall while an ambulance was stuck in the jam then.

Siddaramaiah issued orders not to stop ambulances to make way for his convoy.
