A 17-year-old PU student, who had been missing since October 26, was rescued by the police on November 4 from a lodge in Whitefield. She was reportedly locked up in a room and raped multiple times over a period of 10 days by a group of four men, including the owner of the lodge. The girl’s parents had registered a complaint with the police four days after she went missing.
The girl has said in her complaint that a friend had invited her to a party and had sent two men to Whitefield railway station to fetch her; all four accused have been arrested.
The victim told police officials that a classmate from college who had invited to a party asked the victim to meet her at the Whitefield Railway station to head for the party on October 26. However, upon reaching the Railway station, the victim could not spot her friend and was instead greeted by two men who claimed to be acquaintances of her friend and said that they were told by her friend to accompany her to the venue of the party.
When the owner of the hotel gained knowledge of the incident, the accused men urged him not to go the police and offered him to rape the girl in exchange for his silence.
Once the victim followed the two men to a lodge in Whitefield, she was asked to wait for her friend in one of the rooms. While she was waiting for her friend, one of the two men who had met her at the railway station entered the room and raped her followed by the second man who met her at the station after which another man entered the room and raped the victim. When the owner of the hotel gained knowledge of the incident, the accused men urged him not to go the police and offered him to rape the girl in exchange for his silence.
The KR Puram police, who had initially registered a case of kidnapping (IPC 363) on the request of the victim’s parents. Police have received a detailed statement from the victim after which, the accused were placed in judicial custody. They have been booked under Sections 376D (gang rape) 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement, kidnapped or abducted person), 363 (kidnapping), 343(wrongful confinement if any person for three days, or more), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) 506 (criminal intimidation), of IPC along with Sections 4 and 6 of POCSO Act.
